- Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur
- Works with Safety Manager to plan, implement and supervise all project safety
- Reports safety performance measurement with a focus on leading indicators on a monthly basis
- Analyzes and recommends corrective action for incidents and trends
- Reinforces a positive safety culture with field employees, including subcontractors
- Completes weekly site visits and inspections on construction projects and in steel fabrication shop.
- Assist with maintaining chemical inventories for all operations
- Participate in inspections from regulatory agencies
- Attends project related safety and pre-construction meetings
- Responds to incidents and assists with injury treatment protocols with occupational treatment facilities
- Preforms incident, injury and near miss investigations
- Provides and oversees safety orientation and training for employees including, at a minimum: Fall Protection, Ladders, Scaffolding, and other training as needed including utilizing outside vendors/resources
- Develops and distributes Toolbox Talks and safety communications/alerts
- Assists in development of site-specific safety plans
- Management of respiratory protection program
- Responsible for maintaining stock of PPE supplies
- Periodically travels out of state to service and inspect projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
PM21
- A.S/B.S. degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related field
- OSHA 500 Certified, OSHA 30 certifications
- First Aid/CPR/AED
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- 2-5 years of Construction experience
- 2 -5 years of Safety experience Ability to obtain government security clearance as required
