The Clinical Team Leader, MA/LPN provides team leader responsibilities for the clinic. This position ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation standards and Adena Health System policies and procedures. The incumbent provides direction for the clinical staff and participates in the workload as needed within his/her professional scope. The incumbent may also provide direction to clerical staff as needed. Decisions are made independently and/or in collaboration with the Manager, Clinic Staff and Operations and/or Director. This position has access to confidential information and functions under the direction of the Manager, Clinic Staff and Operations and/or Director.

Medical Assisting OR LPN
Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses:
Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent experience and must complete certification within 12 months of hire OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current Ohio License. Successful completion of Adena skills assessment and written test annually.
Required Experience:
1-2 years related work experience in a medical office setting
Preferred Experience:
3-5 years related work experience in a medical office setting. 1-2 years ICD-9 & CPT coding
Job Essential Functions:
- Assists the clinic manager in engaging physicians and staff through communication of priorities, delegation of clinic tasks, and accountability to the achievement of goals.
- Assists the clinic manager with the development and leadership of huddles and rounding to facilitate problem solving, communication from AHS system meetings, and identification of clinic concerns/issues.
- Supports clinic manager in leading implementation of SOP’s, auditing, correction and suggestions for continuous quality improvement
- Develops department specific clinical competencies not otherwise addressed through system standard competencies. Monitors staff for annual skills validation and ensures staff licensure/certification requirements are communicated and kept up to date.
- Supports clinic manager by ensuring staff follows standardized processes through metric tracking, performing root cause analysis, and improvement to meet or exceed budgeted quality, service, volumes and expenses.
- Assists clinic manager with development of disciplinary documentation and performance evaluations. Leads staff by reinforcing clinic and personal goals.
- Provides/coordinates orientation, training and necessary internal continuing education for clinical staff. Monitors and meets with AHS clinical teams to ensure clinic is up to date with system clinical standards.
- Act as liaison for providers and staff to answer questions, communicate concerns to the clinic manager, and solve day to day issues. Supports staff with day to day clinical flow as needed.
- Provides guidance, leadership and education to clinical team with end goal of holding them accountable for adherence to quality goals/metrics, service excellence goals and initiatives as well as expected behavior in delivery of care for optimal service to patients. Ensures clinical staff works within their respective job description.
- Adhere to AHS, local, state and national legal and regulatory compliance requirements through ongoing clinic audit reviews and corrective action. Maintains quality controls, proficiencies, monitors required maintenance and upkeep of clinical equipment as per regulatory compliance requirements.
