Job Summary:
The Sr. Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department and the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, benefits, employment and payroll administration.
Essential Functions:
- Administers various associate benefit programs such as group health, dental and vision insurance; group life and LTD; retirement/pension plans, etc.
- Conducts new associate(s) orientation sessions weekly (or as needed) with the goal of communicating HR policies/procedures and welcoming new associates to the company and making their transition into AR as smooth as possible.
- Serves as the primary payroll processing administrator.
- Schedules and ensures the necessary newly hired pre-employment testing is completed prior to orientation (drug screen, physical, criminal background check, credit check etc.).
- Responsible for entering HR data into payroll system (ADP) and HRIS (Oracle) databases, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, address changes, etc.
- Processes, reviews and reconciles monthly benefit billing statements.
- Maintains high level of confidentiality.
- Prepares various department and company reports, such as annual census data for retirement plans, benefits eligibility rosters, etc.
- Responsible for compliance with Federal, State and local legislation pertaining to all HR-related matters.
- Responsible for the security and overall maintenance of personnel records, including the company’s HR information systems.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the associates in order to be an effective problem solver.
- Work with managers of international subsidiaries on HR related issues, as necessary.
- Liaison with retirees.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate on committees and special projects, as directed by the Director of HR or the President.
- Responsible for maintaining and implementing the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) and EEO compliance.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, management or other HR-relevant major, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related HR management experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
