Quality Assurance Expert:
Adient is seeking a Quality Assurance Expert to join our team. As the Director of Quality Excellence, you will be responsible for leading the execution of quality deliverables for the Metals Division. This role requires direct responsibility for Customer Interface, Craftsmanship, and Warranty performance. Your additional responsibilities will include AQE, QE, and QM staffing, training, and performance reviews. You will also be responsible for Supplier management and Quality performance.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing a monthly assessment of all quality deliverables for each program within the BU areas,
• Mitigating the risk of any missed quality deliverables with the execution of appropriate corrective action plans and glide paths,
• Reviewing and approving Quality deliverables,
• Actively participating in Program Reviews, and Phase Exit Reviews,
• Actively participating in monthly product reviews by presenting current issues and systemic improvement to prevent reoccurrence within specific plants and other applicable plants in the network,
• Functioning as the primary point of contact to the particular Customer for responding to quality issues, Potential Product Safety Concerns (PPSC), Quality Key measure performance, and other "Customer Specific" initiatives,
• Developing key Customer relationships in the Supplier Quality Area,
• Communicating Customer issues, Adient's performance in the eyes of the Customer, and unique Customer quality systems / procedures to the appropriate individuals within Adient, and assuring that appropriate actions are taken,
• Working for improvement in or maintaining Green Customer Score Cards,
• Ensuring the successful implementation of Adient Quality Systems and ensuring continued certification to IATF 16949, including customer specific requirements,
• Assuring commandment audits are completed on time per yearly plan, and lessons learned from PPSC / IRs are driven back into commandment requirement,
• Driving continuous improvement of Customer specific Warranty performance data. Ensure that the appropriate issues are identified, root cause determined, and corrective actions implemented,
• Assuring that known product quality concerns are addressed and improvement is measured on Glide path for Warranty,
• Developing QE resource budgets and staffing needs. Participating in the interview process, and adding resources, as they are needed,
• Developing and executing Annual Development Plans, Performance Reviews, and succession plans for each AQE, QE, and QM that is in the Business Unit,
• Participating in the quoting process to ensure that the appropriate quality resources and objectives are considered prior to receiving the business award,
• Ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time, and that any critical issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Requirements for this role include:
• A Bachelor's Degree in a technical area is required (or equivalent experience). Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including (minimum) IATF 16949, VDA, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC are also required,
• People development and leadership experience is required,
• 5 years of automotive experience in welding and stamping preferred.
