Job Summary:
Client is seeking a Lab Instrument Services and Asset Manager for our client site in Bothell, WA. The successful candidate will have outstanding skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best in class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction.
The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, however, various hours may be required based on business demand. As a Lab Instrument Services and Asset Manager, you will be responsible for daily support activities, including: Managing a Lab Instrument Services and Asset Management Team to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory spaces in a scientific research and development facility. Effectively communicate with the site management team and end users. Manage the Laboratory Instrument Services (LIS) program in a GxP Pharmaceutical Research Environment Perform strategic asset planning and systematic analysis and management of physical assets within laboratories to enhance utilization and performance. Oversee and manage in house calibration technicians and scheduler/planners. Oversee contractor management for Analytical laboratory instrumentation i.e. HPLC, Spectroscopy, etc. Oversee pipette calibration program. Support industrial calibration needs on Facility systems. Conduct thorough analysis of current laboratory space usage to identify underutilized areas and bottlenecks. Evaluate layout, equipment placement, and workflow patterns. Implement effective systems for tracking and managing laboratory equipment. Implement regular maintenance schedules, calibration, and inventory management to ensure that equipment is always in optimal condition. Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to understand specific requirements of laboratory spaces by gathering input from researchers and staff to identify pain points and areas for improvement. Assure department meets established Key Performance Indicator Metrics (KPI) Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders and monitor performance. Assure program complies with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Assure department adheres to strong safety program and safety culture. Serve as primary liaison to Amentum and Client management teams. Oversee Calibration Reference Standards Program Track and trend calibration program performance and instrument failure rates. Instrumentation subject to calibration is typical in a Pharmaceutical Laboratory: Freezers, Centrifuges, Incubators, Balances, HPLC, Liquid Handlers, Pipettes Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor. Strive for quick complaint resolution; to resolve problems on the first call and avoid escalation of issues through operational knowledge.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent. 7 years of experience working in a pharmaceutical, chemical, industrial, or related laboratory environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with calibration and standards programs, metrology principals, as well as USP Guidance and other industry guidance documents: GAMP Guide, ISO guidance Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for several types of respirators. Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line. Ability to obtain an appropriate driver`s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. Some physical/special requirements include: Regularly lift to 50 lbs Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement. Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift. Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding. Wear safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a Scientific Discipline Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical or pharmaceutical campuses. 10 years of experience working in a pharmaceutical, chemical, industrial, or related laboratory environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Working experience with calibration and standards programs, metrology principals, as well as USP Guidelines and Industry Guidance Documents: GAMP Guide to Calibration Management, ISO Guide 17025 Understanding of calibration of Process Instrumentation on equipment such as Autoclaves and Glassware Washers. Understanding of calibration of Laboratory equipment including Incubators, Freezers, Refrigerators, Centrifuges, Ovens, and/or Shakers. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus. Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
