What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Adirondack Rehabilitation Medicine?
We have a great opportunity for someone to begin or advance their career at our practice as a Medical Assistant where we will offer training and the opportunity to become a Certified EMG/NCS technician. In this important role, you will work directly with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic evaluations on patients and explain procedures to patients; answer questions; and ensure they are comfortable and properly positioned for testing.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate EMG machines and related neurodiagnostic equipment, ensuring proper electrode placement and machine function.
- Monitor patients during testing, record electrical activity from muscles and nerves, relay and document test results accurately and thoroughly.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology obtained through onsite training to explain procedures to patients effectively.
- Travel to satellite offices located in Saratoga, Malta, Schenectady and Albany
To be successful here, we would ideally like you to have:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Solid computer skills including MS Office products, with EMR experience
· Excellent customer service skills
· Strong commitment to the quality and accuracy of your work
