Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
Hours : Monday-Friday 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm; On-site, Saratoga Springs, NY
SUMMARY :
The Human Resources Assistant is a critical member of the Human Resources department at The Adirondack Trust Company. This role assists in all areas of the department including Recruitment, Payroll, Employee & Retiree Benefits, File Maintenance, Performance Management, and other daily tasks. Applicants must be willing to perform all necessary job functions and uphold employee and retiree confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Must maintain a high level of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and The Adirondack Trust Company culture.
Processes transactions through the General Ledger such as DBL (Disability) payments, Insurance payments, 699 account activity and movie tickets.
Payroll responsibilities will include scanning payroll documents, file maintenance and monitoring timecard entries.
Creates forms, documents and correspondence on behalf of HR which include Job Postings, Job Descriptions, Confirmation Letters, Separation Packets, Disability Packets, Onboarding, and Mail Merge projects such as Annual Statements and required notifications.
Provides support for the recruiting process by assisting with job postings, external advertisements, candidate pre-screening, scheduling and interviewing. Maintains applicant records, the Staffing Activity Log, and the Applicant Log.
Assists in the Onboarding of new employees, by preparing orientation and onboarding documents, brand bags, and scheduling new hire Onboarding sessions.
Processes monthly premiums for health, dental, and life insurance, and monthly transactions for retiree coverage.
Act as a resource for basic employee questions including payroll, insurance, and company policy.
Assists Security and Facilities with processing invoices and other projects.
Maintains Listing of Mandatory Postings. Monitors and maintains mandatory posting information throughout the company.
Maintains and tracks Performance Management. Assign and ensure reviews are being completed by managers in a timely manner and escalate training plans to HR Generalist.
Responsible for updating documents and creating new content for the HR Home Page of the Hub (Internal Intranet page).
- Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
This position requires experience in a business setting, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical skills.
The ideal candidate must be results driven, possess a sense of urgency, and be able to maintain a high level of professionalism.
Prior experience in the human resources field or an Associate Degree are preferred, but not required.
Strong interpersonal relationship skills and the demonstration of effective listening and communication abilities are highly recommended.
LICENSE and / or CERTIFICATIONS :
Certification and continued education are encouraged for long term success in this role and career growth.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Speech and hearing ability must be well enough to communicate both in person and by phone.
Normal daily physical activities to include : walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Typical lifting is zero to 10 lbs. Must be able to read screens or documents and possess the fine motor skills required to use the phone and computer keyboard.
