Position Description
This position assists with the execution of summer conference events, including housekeeping, catering, and coordinating check in/check out of campus guests.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conference events require a varied skill set as the summer progresses.
- Assist with the cleaning of dorm rooms for summer guests.
- Execute catering events.
- Communicate with other team members regarding guest needs and facilitate successful events.
- Demonstrate food knowledge in describing catering event offerings, communicating any dietary needs with the kitchen.
- Set up, break down, and clean catering spaces.
- Post signage for events.
- Execute check in/check out services for events.
- Audio visual assistance and support.
- Will require weekly late night and/or overnight shifts while conferences are in session.
- Comply with all campus policies and standards.
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or six months – one-year related experience and/or training.
- Guest service oriented.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
- Possess knowledge of food production and service.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions, technical procedures, or campus policies.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Must speak, read, and write proficient English.
- Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive campus community.
