Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking for a strong and motivated Maintenance Planner/Scheduler for the manufacturing operations in Thomson, GA (located just outside of Augusta, GA).
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will be the principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance, Operations and other supported departments. The Planner is able to help Operations balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance. He/She is responsible for long-range as well as short-range planning. Long-range planning involves the regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources. These two basic variables must be kept in balance if a proactive maintenance environment is to be established and sustained. This will be accomplished by establishing a PM program within our SAP system. This person will work in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager to help co-ordinate overall cost reduction.
The following are the major duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler:

- Organize spare parts inventories to prepare for emergency or preventative maintenance needs
- Ensure that safety is considered when developing every job plan.
- Handle long- and short-range planning.
- Maintain bill of materials (BOM) information for every asset within area of responsibility.
- Follow a daily routine of visiting work lines.
- Scope work and record decisions on Work Planning Checklist (W6-01-05).
- Determine appropriate level of planning for each new work order.
- Assign proper codes during work identification, control, and planning phases.
- Requisition services and materials for planned work.
- Reserve stock items for planned work.
- Develop planned work for the Weekly Work Schedule.
- Identify required permits.
- Determine the proper sequence of work activities.
- Estimate labor hours needed to perform work.
- Estimate costs, including labor, materials, and contract services, for each work order.
- Communicate Work Planning Package information to Maintenance Manager.
- Inform Maintenance Manager of abnormal or critical situations.
- Seek Maintenance Manager’s advice on matters outside the Planner’s knowledge or authority.
- Coordinate all planned maintenance and minor construction activities in designated facility area.
- Identify and develop standard work routines and task lists.
- Assist with work scheduling as needed.
- Attend Weekly Scheduling Meeting.
- Analyze work order feedback and execute follow-up actions.
- Plan shutdown-related work.
- Prepare budgeting, tracking, and analysis.

Educational Requirements
- 3–5 years of similar professional maintenance experience in a facilities management, manufacturing, or maintenance planning role
- Organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills

- Formal maintenance planner training
- The ability to interpret and use the following (to develop job plans): Preferred
- piping and instrumentation diagrams
- equipment drawings
- predictive maintenance reporting
- hydraulic and electrical schematics
Salary range: Approximately $60,000 (pay will be based on education and direct knowledge and experience in role)
