ARTCo Transportation Trainee

The ARTCo (American River Transportation Company) Operations Management Trainee will undergo comprehensive training and gain experience in managing ARTCo facilities and towing vessels. This program focuses on safety management, people management, asset maintenance, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of safety programs. The trainee will be exposed to various aspects of operations, including logistics, capital asset management, and maritime safety. Potential location assignments include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and Louisiana.
Job Responsibilities:
Note: Successful completion of a background check is required.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$67,000

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing operations at ARTCo facilities and towing vessels, focusing on maritime safety and regulatory compliance.
- Learn and apply people management, including workforce coordination and development.
- Support scheduling of plant production, warehouse inventory coordination, and bulk truck and rail logistics.
- Engage in relationship management with customers and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.
- Participate in the management of capital assets, including repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Gain knowledge of basic accounting principles and their application in operations.
- Serve as a backup to commercial managers in their absence.
- Participate in daily operations reviews and interact with operations and quality staff to ensure smooth functioning.
- Relocation : Willingness to relocate across the U.S. as part of the program.
- Leadership & Communication : Strong leadership and communication skills.
- GPA : Minimum GPA of 2.8
