Assistant Director of Student Services

Qualifications:
- Active PDE Certificate that enables the successful candidate to supervise Special Ed
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience, required
- Administration experience in special education, required
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to Chapter 14, 15, and 16
- Possess excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
- Possess excellent time management skills
- Ability to present information to large groups (staff, administrators, parents and
general public)
- Ability to facilitate effective, productive meetings
- Ability to collaborate within group to produce meaningful outcomes
- Ability to work independently
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Special Education with:
- Special education curriculum and staff development regarding Special Education practices and techniques
- Instructing and assisting teachers in IEP/504/GIEP development
- Conducting evaluations of special education staff
- LEA responsibilities both within district and at IU/APS placements
- Compiling and maintaining PDE reports, evaluations, and records
- Perform other duties, as assigned
