Benefits Coordinator
Central Administration
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Minimum 2 years post-secondary and/or 3 years experience in related field
- Benefits experience, preferred
- Bookkeeping knowledge and strong math skills, required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, required
- Strong analytical skills, required
- Ability to work cooperatively and independently, required
- Ability to exercise judgment, display tact, diplomacy and sensitivity
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and database management, required
- Skills testing required prior to interview
Performance Responsibilities:
- Enroll, terminate and maintain employee fringe benefit elections, demographic and dependent information, payroll deductions and their costs within district personnel and payroll software modules, as well as insurance carrier and TPA websites
- Monitor compliance, maintain data and submit reports related to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
- Coordinate district’s annual Benefit Open Enrollment process
- Coordinate Workers’ Compensation claim processing, payroll adjustments and attendance reporting
- Coordinate Unemployment Compensation claim processing
- Prepare and process payment orders for employee reimbursements and vendor payments
- Process personal leave day applications
- Maintain and coordinate COBRA compliance with TPA
- Maintain health benefit data for utilization during budget preparation
- Serve as backup to the H.R. team for processing volunteer clearances, obtaining substitute coverage, responding to employee inquires, conducting intakes, etc., as needed
- Coordinate district wellness fair
- Coordinate safety committee meetings
- Coordinate 403b accounts
- Assist staff with benefit claim concerns or problems
- Perform other duties, as may be assigned by the Director of Human Resources
Hourly Rate: $30.00-$33.00 per hour (based on benefits & school district experience)
