TITLE: ELEMENTARY SCIENCE, STEM, AND SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid teaching certification
- Master’s Degree required, with intensive
course work in curriculum development
- At least five years’ successful teaching experience in science, social studies and/or STEM.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Chief Academic Officer
JOB GOAL: To assist elementary teachers in providing meaningful standards-based learning experiences for Putnam City students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads science, social studies, and STEM teaching and learning for PreK to 5th grade.
- Analyzes data to determine strengths and weaknesses in curriculum and instruction.
- Meets with teachers to implement the district’s science, social studies, and STEM curriculum.
- Assists teachers in the organization and management of classrooms for effective teaching and learning.
- Assists in the construction and evaluation of science and social studies assessments.
- Facilitates in the selection of supplies, equipment, textbooks, and materials for science, social studies, and STEM instruction.
- Provides instructional modeling and professional learning improve instructional practices.
- Responsible for program budgets and grants.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with district leaders, colleagues, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Participates in professional organizations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year. Salary to be established by the Board.
