What are the responsibilities and job description for the Programmer Analyst position at Administrative Office of PA Courts?

In this role, you will take charge of the design, development, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance of the Presentation, Database, and Reporting Tiers for our Common Pleas Criminal Court Case Management System (CPCMS) and the Magisterial District Judge System (MDJS). You'll leverage your skills in object-oriented methodologies, Visual Basic .NET, SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise T-SQL, and SAP Crystal Reports to streamline a standardized development process. Moreover, you'll have the chance to propose innovative technical designs that enhance the integration of judicial processes and information across our automated case management systems. Job Duties
- Codes the Presentation Tier of client/server systems using VB.NET WinForms, third-party and custom-built control libraries, XML, Crystal Reports, and SAP ASE T-SQL.
- Investigates user-reported issues by replicating the problem, analyzing existing code, and applying fixes to resolve the issue.
- Adheres to the team's standard development practices regarding coding style and functions.
- Adheres to development procedures for effective source code control and promotion across various testing and production environments.
- Leads the investigation, design proposal, development, verification, and implementation phases for system functional areas, utilizing resources from multiple technical teams.
- Conducts testing to validate application functionality and resolves reported issues.
- Analyzes database models and creates XML database schemas (XSDs) to facilitate data retrieval.
- Analyzes, evaluates, creates, and documents system requirements associated with application reporting.
- Designs, implements, and maintains database code objects, including stored procedures and views, integrates with presentation and/or middle tier objects, and performs duties according to database standards and best practices.
- Analyzes system performance of functional areas and leads the tuning of VB.NET and T-SQL code to provide acceptable throughput.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with an IT-related major or minor, PLUS
- Four years of professional experience in applications development.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, SAP Crystal Reports, Azure DevOps Studio, Cisco Webex, IDERA RapidSQL, Microsoft 365 Apps, Microsoft Teams
- Knowledge of Microsoft VB.Net, SAP ASE Transact-SQL, SAP Crystal Reports
- Satisfactory criminal background check required.
