Responsibilities: The Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for collaborating in the development and implementation of procedures for recruiting new students and day to day Admission Office functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Projects a warm and caring attitude that has defined our school culture.
- Assists in the planning and implementation of marketing activities (developing marketing strategies, developing marketing calendars, cultivating relationships with new and current pre-schools, feeder-schools, etc.).
- Assists in the planning and implementation of school wide admissions program events (e.g., open houses, preschool presentations, JK-12 grade testing, evaluations and visit days, etc.).
- Meets with prospective families to provide an overview of Country Day’s comprehensive educational experience and acquire detailed information respective to those prospective students and families.
- Helps organize prospective student visits, and works collaboratively with classroom teachers, including academic and social evaluations and assessments.
- Serves as an active member on Admissions Committees. Summarizes and interprets all data in student files (cognitive and developmental assessments) and presents recommendations to the Admissions Committee for prospective student admissibility.
- Assists in the development of all assessment programs and tools used for new applicants to grades JK-12.
- Conducts prospective parent conferences and interprets assessments and evaluations of findings to prospective parents.
- Plans and helps organize the Summer Enrichment and Academic (SEA) program for Upper School students.
- Assists with Financial Aid process.
Other Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Represents Country Day in the community and establishes and maintains contacts with local and national educational agencies and organizations.
- Meets with teachers and guidance counselors prior to the beginning of the school year to discuss profiles of new students.
- Assists in organization of Parent Volunteer system for visiting families.
- Maintains updated records for prospective students in the master database.
- Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required (degree in Education preferred)
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- 3-5 years of independent school leadership experience (required)
- 3-5 years of classroom experience (preferred)
- Leadership role in DEIB (preferred)
- Working knowledge of educational databases (Veracross, etc.)
- Financial Aid Processing experience
- SEVIS database management experience
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
