About Us:
Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) provides a supportive and innovative environment for teenagers (ages 13–17) facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use, and other mental health concerns. We are dedicated to empowering adolescents and their families through therapeutic engagement, creative interventions, and holistic care.
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Adolescent Mental Wellness Coach to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for students pursuing mental health careers, youth counselors, substitute teachers, or professionals passionate about adolescent development and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement: Build meaningful relationships with adolescents to foster trust and support their emotional well-being.
- Family Communication: Act as a point of contact for parents and guardians, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
- Group and Therapy Support: Motivate and encourage adolescent clients to attend scheduled therapy sessions and group activities, ensuring active participation.
- Intake and Outtake Coordination: Assist with the smooth onboarding and discharge process, making transitions seamless for clients and families.
- Behavior Monitoring: Supervise adolescent clients to ensure a safe and structured environment while documenting behaviors and progress.
- Crisis Management: Apply de-escalation techniques and other interventions to address inappropriate behaviors while maintaining a calm and supportive atmosphere.
- Therapeutic Activities: Facilitate recreational, educational, or therapeutic sessions to engage clients meaningfully.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and therapeutic environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health, youth counseling, or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with adolescents and their families.
- Understanding of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and substance use.
- Ability to handle crises calmly and effectively.
- Flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented approach.
Schedule:
- Part-time: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
