Position Overview:
As a Primary Therapist at AWA, you will play a pivotal role in guiding adolescents and their families through their mental health journey. This position emphasizes adolescent therapy, family therapy, and comprehensive care tailored to each client’s needs. Bilingual candidates with the ability to conduct therapy in Spanish are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy to an assigned caseload of adolescents.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and participate in the admissions process.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and MI.
- Facilitate daily group therapy sessions during program hours.
- Engage families actively in treatment, fostering collaborative efforts for client growth and healing.
- Participate in clinical meetings to collaborate on treatment planning and client progress.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system, adhering to agency and professional standards.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, families, staff, and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with DCF and Joint Commission requirements and uphold professional ethics.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Clinician (LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT) or Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents with acute mental health diagnoses in a treatment center setting.
- Expertise in group facilitation and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., DBT, CBT, MI).
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to engaging families as an integral part of the therapeutic process.
- Familiarity with EMRs, LOCUS, ASAM, DCF, and Joint Commission standards.
- Ability to pass a Level 2 background check and drug test.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12 PM – 8 PM (evening hours).
- Work Setting: In-person.
- Flexibility: Program hours are from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM; no flexibility in work hours.
