Foster Parent Recruiter
In accordance with the Agency’s mission statement, policies and procedures, professional Code of Ethics, State of Michigan licensing standards, the Recruiter’s primary responsibilities are the recruiting, screening and selection of foster parents. This position reports to the Licensing Supervisor.
Position Duties and Tasks
- Develops and maintains a dynamic recruitment program to ensure that an adequate number of foster homes, including respite homes, are available to support the growth of the department.
- Develops and maintains a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates for foster parenting, i.e., schools, alumni groups, churches and other public organizations.
- Coordinates and participations in recruiting events.
- Coordinates and participates as needed in preplacement training of prospective foster families.
- Facilitates monthly foster parent training and support group incorporating licensing standards.
- Provides regular reports, statistical data, and other information as requested.
- Regularly prepares for and participates in supervision, department, and other agency meetings.
- Plans and organizes work to meet all requirements according to agency and licensing and funding requirements.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Stays informed of current practice developments within the profession, and uses educational and training opportunities to ensure continual professional competence.
- All other related tasks and assignments as directed or required by the agency.

- Demonstrated computer literacy skills at least in Word programs.
Smart Goals
Generates 10 foster care inquiries per month.
Holds one introduction session every month with a minimum of four participants.
Qualifies at least four potential foster care families to move into the orientation program every month.
Assist with organizing 2 foster care events per year.
No substantiated complaints regarding personal interactions with the agency and community.
Qualification (Education / Training)
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales/Entrepreneurship, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related discipline, and/or a minimum of one- (1) year foster care recruiting experience or equivalent.
Preferred:
2 years foster care recruiting experience.
1 year marketing experience.
