Position Title: Support Coordinator - Student Business Services
Work Schedule: Full Time (12 Months/1950 Hours per year); Monday – Friday as scheduled, some evening and weekend work may be required
Duties (Examples listed below are not an all-inclusive list):
This position involves frequent verbal, written, and email correspondence with Adrian College staff, faculty and students, vendors, auditors, and others. The successful candidate will:
- Process daily student account and cash receipt payments
- Process student account refunds within Federal guidelines, reviewing student accounts for accuracy
- Apply outside scholarships to student accounts per Financial Aid guidelines
- Assist students and parents with questions regarding tuition statements, payments, balances, financial holds, outstanding balances, and refunds
- Communicate and work with other College departments to timely and effectively resolve student inquiries
- Assist the Student Business Services Manager with generating and reviewing semester billing and mailing
- Process room and meal adjustments from the Housing department
- Invoice education subsidies from third-party organizations
- Audit student accounts to clear financial holds for registration and graduation
- Work with Registrar to process student transcript requests
- Issue and approve bookstore vouchers for eligible students
- Assist with hiring, training and supervision of work-study students
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for VP of Business Affairs
- Process non-current student account payments from a third-party vendor
- Reconcile cash daily and office safe weekly
- Process bank deposits and post to accounts receivables and general ledger
- Approve and fulfill cash box requests from various campus departments and reconcile upon return
- Process Office of Development cash receipts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements:
- Associate Degree or related experience
- Outgoing personality, positive attitude, ability to problem-solve
- Have good critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and proficiency in email use
- Must be detail-oriented and have a demonstrated ability for accuracy in record keeping and computations
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone while maintaining a focus on providing excellent customer service
- Experience with billing and receipt collections
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills required
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and exceptional customer service; even during occasional emotionally charged conversations which may include students and parents.
- Ability to work as an integral member of a small team
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work, sometimes with frequent interruptions
- Ability to complete tasks with speed and accuracy
- Must be able to perform duties within the normal bounds of an office environment including sitting for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field
- Experience working in higher education
- 3 years’ experience working in an administrative assistant role
- Experience in student information systems
- Experience in student billing, financial aid, or similar field preferred
- General knowledge of Adrian College policies and procedures
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience with Blackbaud a plus
