Duties
- Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with project managers and other employees to gather relevant information for estimates.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and QuoteSoft to create and manage estimates efficiently.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and vendors to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to financial goals.
- Train and mentor junior estimators, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations and practices.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and QuoteSoft (preferred, but not required).
- Excellent project management skills with a focus on cost control.
- Ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear reporting and collaboration.
