Elevator Pitch
The Bar Lead will be working alongside the GM and Kitchen Manager to ensure the best possible overall guest experience, with particular emphasis on running and maintaining the bar at The Shelburne Pub.. This person will be responsible for working with the team on bar menu creation and implementing and training staff on the menu and standards. When designated as a SL, this person will be responsible for managing hourly staff. This person would own and run onsite events. Must have a flexible and agile schedule to be present during peak times and where needed and must maintain a positive work culture that is fun, focused, and professional.
Event Ownership
- Ownership and lead point person for onsite events
- Communicate with GM and prospective event clients
- Assess ordering needs and scheduling needs
- Day-of operations for Events
Duties Responsibilities
- Utilize training plans to ensure that all staff receive proper training for new wine/cocktail menus and that recipe cards are made available in a timely manner.
- Assist GM with employee performance communication.
- Work with the GM to create seasonal bar menu changes that align with the vision of the Shelburne Pub.
- Utilize and maintain Craftable to ensure that menu items are priced appropriately and manage and maintain our beverage COG goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and storage.
- Adhere to OLCC guidelines and ensure that guests are not overserved and that underaged guests are not served alcohol. Back up your team as needed in these interactions and record in a nightly log.
- Assure that opening, shift change and closing bar checklists are completed
- Maintain open communication, both in-person and electronically, with team and GM
- Analyze labor needs as shift progresses and efficiently phase excess service staff when appropriate without compromising customer service.
- Attend and contribute to monthly management meetings
- Report maintenance issues in proper channels or to GM
- Report team wins and issues in End of Shift Report
- Understand and own SNT responsibilities for hotel guest experience.
Management Duties
- Respond to Slack in a timely manner each working day
- Clearly and appropriately escalate and communicate issues through correct channels.
- Deescalate issues as they arise (staff and guests)
- Arrive on the property on time and ready for your shifts.
- Understand and make changes to meet budget and revenue goals.
- Continuously pursue personal growth and the growth of the team with the support of the company.
- At all times communicate in a respectful manner.
Qualifications
- Must have 2 years of bartending experience
- Responsible and detail-oriented.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be well organized.
- Able to lift and carry linens/items up to 50lbs
