Job Description:
Software Application Developer supports the Clinical informatics Director and is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of electronic health record (EHR) and other related clinical software that supports our clinical operations and enhances patient outcomes.
This position requires a strong background in software development, familiarity with health care standards, and a passion for using technology to improve health care delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
Software Development: Design, code, test, and debug EHR modules and features using best practices in software development.
Integration: Implement and maintain integrations with third-party health care systems and ensure compliance with HL7, FHIR, and other industry standards.
Customization: Collaborate with clinicians and administrators to customize EHR workflows to meet the organization's unique needs.
Support and Maintenance: Troubleshoot, fix, and optimize EHR-related issues and provide ongoing support to ensure system reliability.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical staff, and external vendors, to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
Compliance: Ensure software adheres to HIPAA, HITECH, and other applicable regulations and security protocols.
Other duties as assigned by Executive Leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven experience in software development, preferably in health care or EHR systems.
Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Participates in all required meetings.
Regularly participates in evaluation of self and assigned staff according to Operational Guidelines.
Performs other special functions as may, from time to time, be outlined and attached hereto.
Employee must possess excellent skills in communication and problem solving and possess the ability to follow direction and accept supervision.
Clear and direct communication skills about highly complex, technical subjects as well as presentation skills.
Expert understanding of data and analytics and the ability to turn both into useful information.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Identify data patterns and inconsistencies.
Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
This is a highly independent, fast-paced position working closely with all levels of the organization to gather requirements and provide status updates with all levels of the organization.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5 years applicable experience
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, HTML, or JavaScript.
Familiarity with database management systems (SQL, NoSQL).
Knowledge of health care interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, SharePoint, & Azure) is a plus.

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
