What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Registration/Scheduler position at Adult Pediatric Urology & Urogynecology?
This is a full time position at our Fremont location. Some initial training will be at our Omaha office location (10707 Pacific Street Omaha, NE) This is a hybrid position working in the front and back office. Must have current Medication Aide License, CNA License and BLS/CPR.
CNA will plan and provide professional nursing care for patients at Adult Pediatric Urology & Urogynecology clinics in accordance with physicians’ orders and established policies/procedures. The CNA ensures timely patient flow by escorting patients to exam rooms, preparing clinic rooms/patients for the physician and maintains well stocked rooms. Responsible for reporting the medical, lab and office supplies/equipment need to the appropriate team member. The CNA must be able to communicate effectively with the patient, caregivers and members of the health care team.
The receptionist offers friendly, courteous and confidential assistance to every patient to ensure that the patient has a positive experience while at Adult & Pediatric Urology, P.C. (ADPU) Maintain accurate information on each patient to facilitate the patient encounter during check-in process. Uses automated systems to expedite patient scheduling and preregistration. Ability to understand and relay procedural instructions to patient so that any up front preparations prior to procedure are understood by patient. Ability to answer high level questions from patient in regards to scheduled procedure so patient is aware of why the procedure is being done. Ensuring patient is provided detailed instructions via office handout on procedure being done during check-out process.
- Collects subjective and objective data in person or by telephone. Communicates data to the NP, PA or MD in a timely fashion and carries out orders efficiently and timely. Documents any conversations or changes in the patients’ conditions, medication or prescriptions received, and plan of care in concise and logical manner. Scheduling and/or re-scheduling of appointments and testing. Triage patient phone calls.
- Provides verbal and written education to the patient regarding their condition and document such teaching in the electronic medical record. Will review and prepare electronic medical records during pre-clinic time to organize results and patient education for clinic appointments.
- Consistently acts as a customer service representative for the clinic. Therefore, will seek out appropriate guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties. Demonstrates good judgment, and reasoning skills. Respectful rapport with other nursing staff, medical staff and other departments and visitors required.
- Ensures assistance and encourages patient compliance of future or current MD orders. Will collaborate with physicians regarding test results. Communicates relevant information between doctor and patient regarding diagnosis, and diagnostic test results. Works the physician to provide optimal patient outcomes.
- Serves as the front line patient advocate to patients checking into Adult & Pediatric Urology, PC through the ADPU patient registration process. Follows up with patient prior to departure, scheduling appropriate procedure as directed from the physician.

- Verify and enter data such as demographics, insurance information into computerized scheduling and billing system with each encounter with patient. Obtain insurance referrals prior to patient’s appointment. Collect patient co-payment and generate patient receipt. Keep patient appointment on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival.
