Job Description
Food Safety and Quality Management
This role oversees all aspects of food safety and quality management systems in assigned distribution centers (DCs), ensuring the highest level of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) accreditation.
- Champion a product safety culture within DC leadership, driving continuous improvement opportunities across functions to strengthen GFSI requirements compliance.
- Responsible for leading and updating campus food safety and quality programs to maintain annual GFSI accreditation.
- Manage existing food safety and quality programs, emerging priorities across entire campuses (warehouses, transportation, reclaim, etc.).
- Develop and implement food safety and quality training programs to ensure governmental compliance.
- Train and coach associates and management on food safety and quality programs.
Sanitation and Pest Control Programs
This role is responsible for end-to-end program controls, monitoring effectiveness, verifications, and recordkeeping accuracy for:
- Sanitation Teams
- Master Sanitation Schedules
- Trailer Sanitation
- Pest Control Organization (PCO) Relationships
- Reclaim Programs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct facility audits to ensure General Food Safety (GFSI) compliance.
- Lead annual compliance with GFSI requirements and lead role with recertification audits.
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners at various organizational levels.
- Develop and conduct training for associates and management on Food Safety and Environmental topics.
- Maintain and coordinate campus food defense programs.
- Ongoing food safety or quality tasks as assigned.
Weekly Responsibilities
- Personal Hygiene Practices
- Coordinate Building and Grounds Maintenance Poor Conditions
- Sanitation: Buildings, Trailers, and Compactors
- Oversee Pest Control Management & Documentation
- Food Safety Training: New Hire and Sanitary Transportation for Drivers
Monthly Responsibilities
- Conduct Warehouse GMP Audits
- Launch Corrective Actions for GMP Findings
- Conduct Monthly Sanitation Verifications
- Document Control: GFSI/IFS Binders, QA, Recalls, Calibration Records, COAs, Supplier/Vendor Surveys, Work Orders
Annual Responsibilities
- Perform Assigned GFSI Internal Audits
- Lead GFSI Re-Cert Audit for Respective DC
- GFSI/NSF Corrective Actions Closures
- Annual GMP Refresher Training
- Conduct Food Defense/Food Fraud Exercise
- CFPM Instructor/Proctor as needed
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Five years of relevant experience.
- Strong coaching, training, and motivational skills: ability to lead.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license.
- Achieves GFSI certification.
- Maintains food manager certification.
- Achieve FSMA Preventative Controls for Human Food Accreditation.
