PennLive is looking for a prolific content producer with a knack for identifying trending topics, particularly national sports topics, and for turning around well-structured, timely aggregations and stories aimed at reaching new readers. This person will write several articles a day to capitalize on trending topics. While the position will concentrate on national sporting news, the ideal candidate will be versatile enough to write on pop culture, entertainment or any topic that will create high-interest posts.
This reporter will also spend some time each week on e-commerce/ affiliate revenue posts connecting fans of national and state sports to products and services, from the best prices for game tickets or how to find sales on team merchandise.
Candidates should be organized, competitive and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic. They must also be familiar with SEO best practices.
This is a remote position but will be part of a team of trending reporters and will augment the work of our e-commerce/ affiliate revenue team.

- Clever SEO skills that will adapt to moving goal posts
- The ability to perform and adapt under pressure
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Familiarity with Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Truth Social and other social media platforms
- A commitment to fairness, professionalism, ethics and diversity
- A degree in journalism, English or communications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Minimum 5 years journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing;
- A fluency in SEO, Google Trends and keywords;
- The poise and organization to handle multiple tasks at once at a fast-moving pace;
- A competitive nature and mindset
