Position Summary:
A team leader responsible for overseeing operations areas, including multiple departments or a centralized function. Typically, a mid-management position within a medium to small division with significant staffing and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise a team of approximately 20-30 direct reports.
Development and Training
- Conduct performance evaluations.
- Provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary measures as needed.
- Maintain accurate time and attendance records.
Team Performance and Improvement
- Develop High Performing Teams through coaching on continuous improvement and respect for people.
Process Optimization
- Perform time studies, capacity analyses, layout/product flow analyses, and standardized work.
Professional Development
- Participate in professional leadership development through one-on-one instruction, guided reading/lesson, and formal classroom instruction.
Metrics and Reporting
- Responsible for driving the team to meet and exceed team metrics of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Work with value stream partners to maximize both internal and external customer satisfaction.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with your fellow Operations Leaders to create a unified manufacturing team that supports the overall business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year as a Group Leader at AA TECH or 3 years of experience supervising in a manufacturing environment outside of AA TECH.
- At least 4 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with formal or informal team or project leadership.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree or greater.
- Hands-on experience in the implementation of lean techniques including value stream mapping, 5S Safety, single piece flow, and standard work.
- Strong understanding of quality systems.
