What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist (Tier 1) position at Advanced Automation Consulting?
AAC is seeking a motivated and eager IT professional to join a client in the Spartanburg, SC area as an IT Support Specialist. This individual would be working with internal users and customers on a daily basis to troubleshoot technical issues via phone or email. This is a fast-growing company with a strong culture looking to connect with people who genuinely love all aspects of Information Technology!
This position will start as a 3–6-month contract, with the strong potential to convert to full-time/perm. depending upon performance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist client and local users of the company’s technology solutions in solving technical issues
- Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues received via phone, email, or walk-in’s
- Perform thorough follow up of helpdesk tickets
- Utilize internal ticketing system for helpdesk tickets involving operating systems, company software, and other software applications
Required Skills:
- 2-5 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues through an IT support ticketing system
- Experience resolving network-based issues, configuration and installation of operating systems, and working with internal business applications
- Experience with user administration within Active Directory
- Strong understanding of basic networking concepts
- Strong PC skills and a passion for helping people understand information technology
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
