We are a full-service Information and Communication Technology Contractor specializing in Voice/Data Infrastructure, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Professional Audio Sound Reinforcement, Conference room A/V packages and automation, as well as network hardware and design.
Lead Technician Description,
- Assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary site training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete project.
- Adhere to and participate in all company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
- Fully complete all paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
- Complete projects from start to finish with supervision.
- Install cat5e, cat6, cat6A and other category cables.
- Install, terminate, splice, test Fiber optic cables, wireless access points, support structures and building pathways; J-Hooks, cable tray, Arlington loops
- Install work area outlet on walls, in modular furniture, and in ceiling. WAO to be terminated CAT 6 & CAT 6A.
- Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly.
- Certify of installed cables with FLUKE DSX-8000 Versi
- Build closets (Mount and install cable ladder racking/tray, backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
- Install grounding for racks, cable tray/ladder raking equipment and cable as required.
- Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
- Perform testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; use of volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use a tone set.
- Trouble shoot, program and test Audio and Intrusion systems for School Projects
Requirements:
- 2 years of previous work experience as a cable technician.
- Understand BICSI standards
- Experience using scissor and boom lifts
- Ability to work in cramped spaces.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix any problems that may arise.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to identify independent colors and learn color codes.
- Will fully complete all paperwork accurately and on time (daily logs, tool transfers and others as required).
