Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our healthcare providers with patient care and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for healthcare, excellent communication skills, hardworking, honest, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary medical instruments and supplies are ready
- Record patient history, vital signs, and other relevant health information
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Assist with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and administrative paperwork
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on treatments, medications, and ongoing care needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical instruments and work areas
- Support laboratory functions, including specimen collection and basic tests (e.g., EKG, phlebotomy)
- Answer phones and support patient flow process with check-ins and collection of data.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA) preferred
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, but not required for entry-level candidates
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- CPR certification is a plus
- Ethical standards of Honesty and Integrity are a must
