Job Summary
This professional technical skilled position is responsible for managing waste generating services.
Accountabilities
- Perform daily and weekly inspections to include:
- Hazardous waste storage, satellite and central accumulation area weekly inspections and inspection report development.
- Perform container management inspections (labels, container integrity, location, etc.).
- Empty collection containers/day cans into drums or containers for proper packaging as needed.
- Inspect chemical inventory storage and process maintenance areas.
- Provide written reports on general status of waste generating to include abnormalities.
- Perform safety inspections (open containers, unlabeled, containers, misplaced containers, debris, etc.).
- Provide waste preparation and processing services, to include:
- Provide containers for waste accumulation and shipments.
- Apply and monitor accumulation start dates and monitor for compliance.
- Maintain an inventory of waste for compliant storage and shipping requirements.
- Coordinate and perform lab pack requirements.
- Characterize, profile, package, label, manifest, ship, and disposing of waste.

- Develop work/H&S plans or JHA’s.
- Develop process protocols or procedures.
- Support with quarterly waste and/or chemical inventory reporting.
- Attend client onsite meetings and workshops as directed.
- Assist with lab or chemical moves.
- Take samples of impacted surfaces or media and transfer for analysis.
- Support client with RCRA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, DTSC, and CUPA requirements and requests.
- Perform internal inspections (include preparations before inspections, if announced).
- Perform inspections assistance with regulators (EPA, DTSC, CUPA, County, Fire Marshal).

Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Knowledge of the hazardous waste industry with EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations
- Detailed oriented and able to multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background screen, physical, and drug-screen
- Availability to work weekends and extended hours as needed
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Platforms
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to travel to various sites as necessary
Education/Experience
- Bachler Degree in Science or 4 years’ experience in the hazardous waste industry
- Successfully completed HAZWOPER 40 hour (must have copies if certified)
- Successfully completed RCRA Hazardous Waste Generator Training (must have copies if certified)
