Summary
The TSDF Lab-Pack Technician supports the TSDF lab-pack, loose-pack, and special materials programs under the direction of the TSDF Technical Manager.
Accountabilities
• Understand, accept, and support ACT’s core values and ProACTive Safety Program
• Ensure SOPs and safety protocols are adhered to for all plant activities
• Performs safe work practices involving hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
• Consolidates and organizes the consolidation of chemical waste
• Lab-Pack chemical segregation for final TSDF approval and economic efficiency
• Loose-Packs for bulk consolidation
• Resolve off-spec material re-classification, consolidation, and billing
• Locate, pull, and label containers for outbound loads based on pick list and TSDF
• Ensure TSDF is always audit ready
• Safe operation of a forklift
• Receiving of all materials (offloading, weighing, labeling, and storing)
• Ensure inbound waste meets profile specifications (QA/QC).
• Always maintain an accurate “operating record” of wastes on-hand
• Ensure good housekeeping practices
• Perform “near-miss” reporting
• Attends and maintains all required training necessary to perform job
• Responds to emergency situations when called upon
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to direct and achieve goals with limited supervision
• Excellent verbal, written, listening, persuasion and interpersonal skills
• Strong team player
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Chemical Families knowledge and identification a plus
• Documentation and reporting skills
• A strong work ethic and positive, supportive attitude. Ability to be a self-starter, manage multiple priorities and manage details
• Ability to work extended hours when needed
Education/Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Associates or higher College Degree in Environmental, Chemical and/or Life Sciences a plus
• 2 – 4 years of technical and/or warehousing work experience a plus
• Inventory management and logistics experience is a plus
• HAZWOPER 40 Hr experience / certification a plus
