Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to provide leadership, structure, and accountability to our accounting team. This role will oversee a group of bookkeepers handling payroll, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR).
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for driving improvements in financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting. Collaboration across departments will be essential to support operational goals, reporting needs, and compliance requirements. Additionally, this role will work directly with our outside CPA firm on annual tax returns and reviewed financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of bookkeepers across payroll, AP, and AR functions.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and adherence to accounting standards.
- Develop, implement, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting workflows.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide accurate financial data, insights, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with all third-party systems, vendor requirements, and regulatory bodies.
- Work closely with our outside CPA firm on annual tax returns and reviewed financial statements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the accounting function.
- Support strategic decision-making with financial analysis and forecasting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting roles.
- Strong experience with financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement.
- Proven ability to manage other accounting personnel.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate a robust and evolving technology stack. The Accounting Manager must be comfortable working with various software platforms, including customer-specific apps used by technicians for check-ins, GPS tracking systems integrated into invoicing and payroll, and multi-factor authentication portals for banks and vendors.
