Position Summary

As an IT Technician, you will handle advanced troubleshooting and support tasks, assist with server and network maintenance, and collaborate with senior staff on sophisticated technology initiatives. You’ll be a go-to resource for complex issues and will play a key role in providing top-tier services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting & Support
  • Resolve a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues, often requiring in-depth analysis.
  • Serve as an escalation point for more complex technical problems.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to identify and prevent recurring issues.
  • Server & Network Administration
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, user/group management, and domain services.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructures, including firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
  • Monitor server performance, apply updates and patches, and ensure proper backup and disaster recovery practices.
  • System Upgrades & Project Support
  • Assist in planning and executing IT projects such as system migrations, cloud integrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Coordinate with vendors and clients to ensure the seamless deployment of new technologies.
  • Document system configurations, project plans, and procedures in a centralized knowledge base.
  • Cloud & Virtualization
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration, including user licensing, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange Online.
  • Manage or assist with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for provisioning and maintaining virtual machines.
  • Troubleshoot cloud-based services to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Implement and monitor security protocols, including antivirus solutions, endpoint protection, and firewalls.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to maintain compliance with relevant regulations and best practices (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Identify potential security vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Customer & Internal Stakeholder Engagement
  • Provide excellent customer service, clearly communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Train colleagues and end-users in best practices and new technologies.
  • Build relationships with clients by understanding their business needs and recommending scalable IT solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
  • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize workflows, reduce support requests, and enhance user experiences.
  • Share knowledge and mentor junior team members to build the overall team’s expertise.
  • Contribute to a supportive, family-oriented company culture through open communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Education & Certifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in an IT support or similar technical role.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MS-900, AZ-900), or Cisco CCNA are highly valued.
  • Technical Proficiencies
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory, including Group Policy management.
  • Proven experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and security best practices, including firewall configuration (e.g., SonicWall, Fortinet).
  • Experience with RMM tools, such as Syncro/NinjaRMM, etc.
  • Soft Skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to translate technical jargon into plain language for end-users.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, small-business environment.
  • A collaborative mindset that supports knowledge sharing and teamwork.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
