Job Description:
We are currently seeking an IT Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an IT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' IT environments. You will be responsible for upgrading and configuring servers, desktops, thin clients, laptops, printers, wireless access points firewalls, and switches for deployment. You will also assist in deploying new hardware/software and diagnosing/resolving technical issues, providing updates and proactive maintenance both remotely and onsite in the Central Connecticut area. We work with top vendors such as HPE, HP, Dell, Supermicro, Cisco, Lenovo, Meraki, Juniper, Aruba, Ubiquiti, Raritan, Arista, Fortinet, Sonicwall, Synology, Microsoft, etc.
Responsibilities:
· Configure, upgrade and customize new server systems with IPMI hostnames, IP, DNS, RAID, Boot settings and other client specific configuration requirements
· Asset tag, label and enter in our asset management database, all IT equipment shipped and deployed to client sites including generation of inventory, warranty and shipping reports
· Provide technical support and troubleshooting to clients, both remotely and on-site.
· Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, and peripherals.
· Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers both physical and virtual, manage stand-alone servers and domain controllers, administer Active Directory in a domain environment.
· Perform proactive system monitoring, maintenance, and patch management.
· Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
· Conduct regular security assessments and implement appropriate security measures.
· Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
· Collaborate with clients to understand their IT needs and develop customized solutions.
· Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in IT to provide proactive recommendations and improve service delivery
· Keep current with industry certifications (HPE, Dell, Cisco, Nvidia, Microsoft, CompTIA, etc)
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· A , Network , Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (or old MCSA) certifications preferred or working towards.
· Minimum 1-3 years of experience with at least 1 year of hands-on experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
· Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
· Strong knowledge of Windows desktop and Server operating systems and a foundational Linux knowledge
· Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
· Familiarity with cloud platforms (M365/O365, AWS, Azure) and other cloud-based services.
· Solid understanding of networking concepts (VLANS, ACL) and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
· Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and support.
· Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Network , Security ) are highly desirable.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Must be physically capable of working in our warehouse and lift, unbox, box and re-package IT equipment (up to ~80lbs), use pallet jack, load IT equipment on pallets, shrink wrap, strap and prepare for pickup and shipping.
· We provide and ship IT equipment to data centers throughout the world. Occasional direct pickup and delivery to New York/New Jersey/Boston data centers will be required.

Compensation: Competitive with Industry standards and can range from $55,000 -$90,000 depending on certifications and/or experience.
