Overview
The Material Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and supplies within our organization. This position is responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and facilitating the procurement process to support production needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of demand planning, and inventory control systems.
The Materials Management Coordinator will Collaborate in fiscal management and assist in contract compliance to negotiate the best pricing for materials and equipment. This position will assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels for the facility and work closely with the Materials Manager and all medical staff in the procurement of supplies and equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in maintaining hospital inventory of supplies and equipment including stocking, monitoring supply levels to advise when to reorder and replenish.
- Will monitor system processes to ensure accurate supplies and instruments are available for all Operating Room cases.
- Oversee order records, verify shipping quantities, and approve vendor invoices—all while keeping a meticulous track of equipment loans and returns.
- Ensure inventory items are counted, rotated and replenished daily and all procedures are followed.
- Will receives incoming shipments, unloads, and unpacks shipments and verifies contents with purchase order.
- Stores, restocks, and shelves delivery items as necessary and ensures that stockroom is clean and organized.
- Addresses and answers clinical staff inquiries about pending orders and shipments.
- Deliver orders in a timely manner to designated storage areas and departments within facility.
- Quality control, moving carts to and from loading docks, and operation of material handling equipment as needed.
- Assist with any customer requests while maintaining a high level of customer service.
REQUIREMENTS
- Two (2) years supply chain, materials management or related experience.
- Prior experience in a healthcare, receiving/distribution or related industry preferred.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Detail-oriented with outstanding time management skills and a commitment to maintaining professional ethics.
- Proficient with inventory systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with a knack for analyzing data and making improvements.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical supplies preferred.

- Prior experience in healthcare, receiving/distribution, or related industry preferred.
- Knowledge of operational, functional, and/or business systems and practices, typically obtained through on-the-job learning, education, or vocational training.
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
