JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. This role allows the practitioner to see patients in a clinic and or hospital setting offering traditional & attentive patient care experiences. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, focusing on symptom management, diagnosis, and treatment of various medical conditions. This role requires a strong clinical background and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Candidates should hold a nurse practitioner license in this state and have completed 5 years’ experience in the role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists Medical Director in developing clinical practice guidelines.
- Facilitate new patient consultation and health history review
- Perform physical examinations and screenings of patients
- Order and administer tests including bloodwork
- Review and interpret test results
- Diagnoses health problems
- Detect changes in patient condition
- Administer medications
- Operate medical equipment
- Recommend further treatment options or future appointments if needed
- Provide referrals to other practitioners when necessary
- Provide after-care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their families
- Ensure patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.
- Consult with other healthcare professionals as needed
- Deliver quality, physician-level care while complying with company policies, safety regulations, and productivity metrics
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 YRS experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
- Licensed, Certified Nurse Practitioner (Required)
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner in the hospital setting preferred.
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas.
- Must be familiar with the EHR medical charting system
- Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems preferred.
- Strong clinical skills with experience in acute care settings preferred.
- Proficiency in medical documentation practices.
- Knowledge of occupational health principles is a plus.
- Experience with infant care is desirable but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques is advantageous.
- Ability to conduct utilization reviews effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Bilingual, advantageous
- BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
- Primary care: 1 year
- Prescribing: 1 year (Preferred)
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE
- Licensed, Certified Nurse Practitioner (Required) (licensed to practice in Texas)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to Recognize emergent or urgent situations requiring escalation and take appropriate action as specified in policies, and as determined by reasonable professional judgment and ethical professional practice standards.
- Ability to perform, document, and communicate results of Point of Care (POC) Testing.
- Ability to write concise, legible documentation in patient’s medical record. Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures. Rhythm recognition, knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Ability to work with other members of the healthcare team to meet patient’s needs.
- Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, coworkers, supervisors.
