The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and machinery within the facility. This role requires the technician to minimize downtime, maintain a safe working environment, and ensure equipment operates efficiently. The ideal candidate will be proactive, skilled in both mechanical and electrical systems, and capable of performing routine maintenance as well as emergency repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
    • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair work on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
    • Maintain a schedule for equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
    • Conduct regular calibration and adjustments to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Develop and follow a preventive maintenance plan to extend equipment lifespan and reduce breakdowns.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, including service records, repairs, and parts inventory.
    • Monitor the condition of tools and equipment to identify necessary replacements or upgrades.
  • Emergency Repairs:
    • Respond to unplanned equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize production downtime.
    • Identify root causes of breakdowns and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow safety procedures and ensure that all tasks are performed in compliance with company policies and regulations.
    • Perform regular safety checks to ensure that all equipment meets safety standards.
    • Report any safety hazards or risks in the workplace to supervisors immediately.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to the manufacturing process.
    • Provide support and guidance to operators in maintaining the functionality of equipment.
    • Assist in training new maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Parts and Inventory Management:
    • Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and supplies, ordering replacements as necessary.
    • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives, such as machine upgrades, process improvements, and cost-reduction efforts.
    • Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment, including CNC machines, conveyor systems, motors, pumps, and HVAC systems.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
    • Knowledge of Programmable logic controller (PLC)
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial environments.
    • Proficient hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.
    • Comfortable working in a plant or industrial environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
