Advanced Environmental Group, Inc. (AEG) is seeking a Visitor Services Coordinator (VSC). The VSC is a vital role responsible for providing greeting, hosting, transporting, touring, informational, and public safety services to all visitors at the project site. This position requires coordination, communication, and organization skills to ensure the smooth operation and safety of visitors in alignment with the construction work and schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with Site Operations Manager and the Construction Manager to schedule monitoring activities that align with the construction schedule and planned daily activities.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and/or Health & Safety officer at specific work locations to identify visitor observation areas that do not interfere with construction operations.
- Manage the daily presence of visitors, including Agencies, Tribes, and other Stakeholders, ensuring their safety and providing necessary information.
- Provide visitors with a list of daily activities at the start of each day, detailing work locations and tasks to be performed.
- Coordinate with Client and relevant Project Team members to communicate the construction progress and schedule to visitors.
- Arrange transportation for visitors to the agreed-upon observation areas, as determined by Client, the Site Host, and applicable Project Team members.
- Set up the observation area, including tables, chairs, sun protection, and access to drinking water, according to Health & Safety standards.
- Maintain daily field documentation of on-site visitor attendance and activities.
- Inspect each visitor’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before arriving at the observation area. The PPE will be stored and inventoried daily and may include hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety vests, and fire-retardant coveralls as requested by Client, excluding footwear.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a college degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience in visitor services, hospitality, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including construction managers, health and safety officers, and visitors from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and the ability to enforce them.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to transport visitors as needed.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Excellent Communication: Ability to clearly convey information to visitors and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Organizational Skills: Strong capability to manage schedules, coordinate activities, and ensure that all visitor-related tasks are completed efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in inspecting PPE, setting up observation areas, and documenting attendance and activities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact positively with a diverse group of visitors and stakeholders, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive in addressing any issues that arise with visitor coordination and safety.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position involves working on a construction site, which may include exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and physical activities such as walking and standing for extended periods.
- The coordinator must be able to lift and move items and set up observation areas as required.
- Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate the construction schedule and visitor needs.
DRIVING REQUIREMENT:
Candidates for this position must possess a valid current driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
