Hourly rate $22.00 - $40.00 hourly DOE

The function of the Level 2 Fire Alarm Construction Technician is to aid in the install, repair, renovation and maintenance of all fire alarm types to include intermediate field coordination, planning, and expediting of service orders and communication of job status to key AFPS staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Install, repair, renovate and maintain all fire alarm types in a timely and efficient manner
• Load and handle materials and equipment
• Ensure safety conditions at all time to include but not limited to the use of protective equipment (safety glasses, masks, gloves, etc.)
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with all employees of AFPS, as well as customers, other vendors and prospective customers
• Use of basic hand and power tools
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with not more than 75% supervision
• All other duties as assigned
  
  
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to be insured on company automobile insurance
• Acceptable background check and drug screening
• FASA and BASA certifications
• NICET (1-2 years’ experience)
• One year in related fire protection industry or three years’ experience in similar industry
  
  
  

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Basic algebra, spacing requirements and material take offs
• Intermediate knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA and other regulations pertaining to the job
• Intermediate knowledge alarm panels
• Intermediate computer and software skills
• Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
• The ability to communicate in English
