Engineering Technician Role Overview
As an Engineering Technician, you will conduct testing for geotechnical engineering and construction materials projects. This role requires frequent site visits, often multiple per day, demanding strong time management and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory analyses, construction observation, and materials testing.
- Conduct field sampling, borehole logging, and data documentation.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
- Perform construction materials testing (CMT), including soil density, asphalt, and fresh concrete properties.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Conduct asphalt quality control/assurance testing in lab and field settings.
- Manage multiple assignments with strong organizational skills.
- Accurately record daily activities for payroll and service billing.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace and vehicle.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate can work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating with AGS employees, contractors, and client representatives. Safety is a top priority, and all work must be performed to meet high-quality standards and project deadlines set by our Principal Engineer.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Outdoor and indoor work in various weather conditions (heat, wind, cold, ice, slippery surfaces).
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds routinely.
- Periodic overnight travel and occasional out-of-state travel required.
