We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to work in the Norwood, Massachusetts office to serve as a core team member of the growing R&D team.
A Day in the Life:
As a Principal Systems Engineer you will be the lead System Engineer for new product development of various product lines with an initial focus on next-gen Osmometers. We are in the process of innovating system architecture and key subsystems to better serve customer needs. We’re seeking a highly skilled systems engineer who has business knowledge, technical expertise, and excellent communication and teamwork skills to research, design, develop, integrate and maintain complex instrumentation systems for every stage of a product lifecycle. You will work with marketing and finance in defining new product and project requirements (performance, regulatory and financial). The Principal Systems Engineer will also work with program management to define project scope, timeline, and cost.
What we are looking for in you:
- Minimum BS in Engineering, Science or a related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, etc.)
- BS with at least 10 years of product development experience.
- Advanced degree with at least 8 years of product development experience
- Technical expertise in building/prototyping complex electromechanical devices/instruments
- Hands-on design and development of complex electromechanical and/or optomechanical systems
- Knowledge with thermistor, thermoelectric cooler, and precision thermal management
- Expertise in integrating hardware into full systems with software and firmware
- Critical thinking, root cause analysis, creative problem solving.
- Integrity, accountability, influence, communication
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
- Working knowledge of production manufacturing techniques used in biotech instruments and consumables or similar hardware products.
- Technical proficiency in one or more of the following disciplines: optics, fluidics, precision motion, embedded electronics.
- Proficiency developing and/or testing products in a regulated environment.
