Job Description:
We are a physician-supervised weight loss clinic dedicated to helping our patients improve their health and achieve their weight loss goals. We are currently seeking a passionate and compassionate Nutritional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in weight loss counseling and a deep desire to support others in their journey to better health.
As a Nutritional Counselor, you will work closely with patients to develop personalized nutrition plans, provide education on healthy eating habits, and offer ongoing support to help them achieve their weight loss goals. You will be part of a collaborative, caring team that prioritizes the well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized weight loss plans, monitor clients’ progress, and adjust strategies as needed to ensure they achieve and maintain their weight loss goals.
- Conduct initial and ongoing health and nutritional assessments with patients.
- Develop personalized, sustainable nutrition plans tailored to individual needs.
- Regularly assess client health status, including vital signs, weight, and progress toward goals.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers as needed to ensure comprehensive care.
- Educate patients on the connection between nutrition, weight loss, and overall health.
- Collaborate with the clinic’s medical staff and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Provide motivational support and encouragement to patients throughout their weight loss journey.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records including progress reports, treatment plans, and any changes in the client’s health or treatment needs.
Qualifications:
- Must have prior experience in weight loss counseling
- Knowledge of nutrition, weight management, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients.
- A caring, patient-focused attitude with a passion for helping others improve their health.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed patient records.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field preferred but not required.
