Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineering Intern plays a crucial role in creating a competitive advantage for our customers and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Continually improving product designs by seeking input from Production, Sales and Engineering to implement best in class production techniques and processes.
• Create accurate documentation for equipment, including but not limited to : drawings, bills of material, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
• Supports the engineering department in product design on new and existing projects.
• Supports production engineering activities and improvements.
• Utilizes systematic problem solving methodology to identify root causes of product application / quality problems and make recommendations for improvements.
• Works with the Supply Base group in supplier selection through the assessment of supplier capabilities, capacity and ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
• Be able to provide minor support in the shop or test area when required
