Today, AMP is seeking a Controller who maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. This position oversees the production of periodic financial reports and ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. This leader also models the behavior and articulates our mission, values and goals both internally and externally.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and manage a documented system of accounting policies and procedures that cover all aspects of the company’s operations, including revenue recognition, inventory, cash reconciliation, payables and purchasing controls.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Supervise external banking, merchant, accounting, tax and audit relationships and recommend changes as needed.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
- Oversee tax filings and compliance, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- Experience with multiple entities and acquisitions is a major plus
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
- CPA and/or CMA preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of Sage Intacct and cloud-based AP Process systems a major plus.
- Aptitude for communication and negotiation, building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and influencing executives and business decision makers
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills
- Skills to assess process and internal control weaknesses and identify improvements
- Payroll experience preferred
Salary : $190,000 - $200,000
