The Broker and Community Coordinator serves as a vital liaison between the IPA’s primary care provider network, the community, insurance brokers, and Medicare Advantage payor representatives. Key Responsibilities
Broker Engagement & Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contracted insurance brokers and field marketing organizations (FMOs).
- Educate brokers on IPA provider locations, capabilities, quality outcomes, and the value of VBC care delivery.
- Coordinate broker orientation sessions and provide toolkits and updated IPA provider lists and benefit crosswalks.
- Support brokers in understanding how to match Medicare Advantage beneficiaries to appropriate PCPs within the IPA.
- Ensure broker satisfaction by providing responsive communication, problem resolution, and alignment with IPA offerings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, senior centers, local non-profits, religious groups, and advocacy groups to promote awareness of IPA providers and services.
- Organize and attend health fairs, community events, and resource expos representing the IPA brand and mission.
- Educate the community on Medicare Advantage plan options and help them navigate provider selection within the IPA network.
- Collaborate with local leaders and influencers to promote culturally relevant messaging and programs that resonate with the community, especially underserved or minority senior populations.
- Act as a liaison between payor representatives and IPA leadership to ensure cohesive messaging, co-marketing opportunities, and timely issue resolution.
- Support Payor/IPA joint events (e.g., health fairs, broker trainings, member appreciation days, etc.).
- Participate in JOC (Joint Operating Committee) and GROWTH meetings when appropriate to share broker/community engagement feedback and trends.
- Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to develop collateral, promotional materials, and digital content targeting brokers and the community.
- Contribute to the development of a community calendar of events and broker training schedules.
- Provide feedback to the marketing team on message effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.
- Support AEP/OEP campaign execution through local marketing, events, and broker network activation.
- Help new and existing patients who are confused or unsure about their insurance plan selection find the best-fit PCPs within the IPA.
- Identify trends from the field that affect member choice and experience and escalate as appropriate for operational resolution.
- Facilitate warm handoffs from brokers to provider offices to ensure continuity of care and reduce churn.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Health, or related field (preferred).
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in healthcare marketing, Medicare Advantage, broker management, or community relations. Experience in VBC setting preferred.
- Language: Bilingual (Korean) preferred for specific community outreach.
- Strong understanding of Medicare Advantage plans and senior populations.
- Deep community ties and cultural competence working with diverse populations.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to travel to provider offices, community locations, and broker meetings.
- Passionate about improving health equity and patient outcomes.
