Customer Service Representative – Durable Medical Equipment Company
Job Overview:
A growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company is seeking a dedicated, experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this important role, you will be the first point of contact for pre-sales customer inquiries and will handle all tasks related to the intake of patient information regarding the service of medical equipment and supplies. We are looking for someone passionate about making a difference in patients' lives, with a focus on customer service and strong communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers to guide them in selecting the best DME products for their needs.
- Establish new customers and address pre-sales inquiries.
- Handle patient information and process paperwork, including ticket confirmations and patient set-ups.
- Communicate effectively with patients, clients, and referral sources via phone and written communication to ensure timely resolution of concerns.
- Verify Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage for patient equipment needs.
- Assist with retail and walk-in equipment requests.
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and company policies to ensure quality service.
- Participate in a rotating on-call weekend schedule.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in customer service (DME experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance (Medicare/Medicaid) is advantageous.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a drug screening and background check.
- Must be willing to work a rotating on-call weekend schedule. A laptop is provided with work-from-home (WFH) capabilities for this.
