Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance and patient transport services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.
As a patient transport technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compassionate, safe and efficient transfer between facilities for adult behavioral health patients. You will be part of the Illinois Patient Transfer, or IPT, team supporting hospitals, patients and families across the state.
This role is based in Peoria and will serve on a mid-day rotation, 5 days per week, on-call 2:00pm - 4:00pm and on shift 4:00pm - midnight.
Job Duties: This list may not include all the duties assigned.
1. Supervision of all patients as assigned to his/her for transportation.
2. Provide de-escalation techniques and aggression preventative strategies when necessary.
3. Assist the healthcare facility staff in escorting the patient and their belongings to and from the vehicle at both originating and receiving facilities.
4. Assure the accuracy and completeness of all company and patient contact paperwork.
5. Be responsible for all equipment and supplies as specified on company vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements.
6. Maintains current, State of Illinois driver’s license according to provisions set forth by the Illinois Secretary of State and Department of Motor Vehicles.
7. Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times.
8. Help promote a positive company image.
9. Accepts other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Valid Illinois Driver’s license required
- Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 25 pounds (subject to physical exam)
- Successful completion of AMTs Management of Aggressive Behavior Training
