As a Director, US Software Modeling Program Management/ Chief of Staff (COS), you will be driving strategic alignment and communications across AMD’s GPU roadmap, including Radeon Gaming, Instinct Data Center GPU, Client APU and Mobile. You will support the Radeon Power and Performance Group CVP, driving key decision making and strategic business objectives. You will lead RPPG Program Management Office to enable delivery of competitive PPA across the roadmap. 

We are looking for a director to take on team and project management of the high performing US software modelling team. You will be responsible for the management of team to support key roadmap projects, growing the team, long-term career development, reviews, mentorship, and associated organization for this engineering team, as it scales. 

You will be supporting local and global team, ensure the roadmap, agreed features and timelines are clearly articulated to all team members. You will work with block owners, other engineering and management teams, and stakeholders to ensure all work is appropriately scheduled and resourced. You will track progress and important metrics, following up as appropriate to ensure tasks are correctly prioritized, and report progress at executive level. 

You will take on a pivotal role in ensuring timely and successful deliveries by the team. 

THE PERSON: 

You have outstanding communication and presentation skills, strong analytical/problem-solving, organizational skills, and program management skills.  You are self-directed, a strategic problem solver, able to handle complexity and ambiguity. Finally, you can work effectively and lead through influence in a cross-functional/matrixed organization. You should be keen to make a real word difference in graphics and compute technology. Want to achieve the best image quality and customer experience, whilst minimizing bandwidth, power and chip area and maximizing performance and feature set. Excited by the challenges these goals create. Proven ability to drive multiple strategic operational programs and manage competing priorities. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Provide advisement and coordination for RPPG leadership team to drive decision making processes and execution of the strategic business objectives. 
• Develop collaterals (presentations, pre-reads, communications) for the CVP on internal and external activities through original contribution and/or collaboration with executives and senior leaders across RPPG. 
• Represent the CVP in requested meetings, synthesizing and abstracting complex information into clear messages and action plans. 
• Effective stakeholder management and relationship building; especially with the G&E Chief of Staff community to ensure alignment, understanding and resolution of strategic, operational and organization development gaps. 
• Plan and define the right tactical strategic topics for Direct Staff and facilitate efficient meetings. Lead the Program Management Office to drive end-to-end project execution and business operational discipline. 
• Growing the team, long-term career development, reviews, mentorship, and associated organization of reporting team. 
• Work closely with Graphics and Compute architects, SW teams, and IP design team, and establishes requirements for architecture modelling projects.  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Expertise in graphics IP, SOC, and/or SW development, and ideally also overall product development. 
• Experience building and leading a sophisticated PMO. 
• Experience collaborating with and influencing in a cross-functional, multi-geography organization. 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Undergraduate degree in technical discipline; Master’s degree preferred. 
• PMP certification an asset
