We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will develop a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate billing and collection of payments for medical services provided to patients. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, lawyers and patients to resolve billing inquiries and maintain accurate medical records.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process.
- Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, including billing inquiries and payment plans.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient information or billing issues.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and billing processes is preferred.
- Experience with medical billing software or electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives. Practiced telephone etiquite.

You will learn the ins and outs of our system, liaison with the insurance companies and lawyers. Cross training will also occur for occasional coverage for the front office assistants. Opportunity for direct patient care one day a week at our satilite office.

- Comfortable with windows-based electronic medical records.
We are looking for someone who's looking for a long-term position. Please, NO STUDENTS and no one looking to use this as a "stepping stone" position to advance their career in the medical field otherwise. We are willing to train but we're looking for some commitment if we do so.
