Job Overview:

This Senior role perform advanced analysis involving all aspects of supporting improving, and enhancing the database and reports for a large project.

• Database and Jasper Reports Development
• Documentation
• Bugs: Core and PEIMS projects
• Dev/Unit Testing
• Participate in Agile development

Responsibilities:

• Strong SQL, PL/SQL and Stored Procedures, along with extensive experience in integrating databases with Java applications.
• The worker will also devise approaches to solving complex problems, provide thought leadership, manage project scope, and provide ongoing updates on project status.
• Needs to exhibit a high level of skill in data aggregation and analysis. This position works for section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System).
• Work assignments follow a defined software development life cycle (SDLC) process using an Agile-like approach for completing code changes for defined releases. This role works across multiple agency stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and efficacy of created reports, in the service of Texas’s 1200 school districts.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• 8 Years: Skill in designing, coding and supporting using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
• 8 Years: Integrating Database with Java applications
• 8 Years: Unit Testing
• 8 Years: Agile
• 5 Years: Jasper Reports Development
• 3 years: Knowledge of JIRA/Bitubucket

Contract Details:

• The primary work location will be in the William B. Travis State Building, 1701 North Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78701.
• The primary work location(s) will be at 100% Remote, Work Location With-in the United States but we prefer candidates who are residing IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.
• Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.
• Services are expected to start 02/17/2025 and are expected to complete by 08/31/2025. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 1155 hours.
